What’s better than a hotdog? A hotdog on a stick coated in a delicious corn batter. The combination of a crispy cornbread batter and the hot dog inside is so tasty. The cornbread batter is sweet and savory, while the hot dog is salty and savory. The contrast of flavors is what makes corn dogs fun to eat. I love them with fries whether it be waffle fries or curly fries and a large glass of lemonade.

Step 1: Ingredients
Ingredients for Corn Dogs Recipe:
This recipe is made with simple ingredients you probably already have. For this recipe I used beef hotdogs but you can use beef, chicken or turkey. Any hotdog will do.
Hot Dogs, Egg, Salt, Sugar, Cornmeal, All-Purpose Flour, Baking Powder, Milk, Canola Oil and Wood Skewers
Step 2: Preparing the Corn Dogs
Before battering and cooking the hotdogs, Place wood sticks down the center of the hotdogs. For this recipe I used wood skewers.
Dry hotdogs with paper towels. Cut the pointed end off the skewers then insert them 2/3 the length of the hotdog.
Step 3: Making the Corn Dog Batter
In a bowl whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
add the milk and egg then whisk until well combined.
Step 4: Dipping the Corn Dogs
Transfer the batter to a mason jar or tall glass. Dip the hotdogs 3 times into the batter to make sure it is well coated.
Step 5: Deep Fry the Corn Dogs
Bring the oil to temperature. Place the battered hotdog in the oil and cook for 3 minutes or until it is golden brown.
