Ingredients

  • 1 pound bone-in pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1-½ teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the black pepper, salt, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well to create a flavorful dry rub.
  3. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. This step is important to ensure the air fryer can "crisp-up" the exterior properly.
  4. Brush the olive oil onto both sides of the pork chops. You can use a pastry brush for this, or simply pour the olive oil over the meat and coat evenly with your hands.
  5. Generously season the pork chops on both sides with the prepared dry rub mixture.
  6. Place the seasoned pork chops in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding the basket, as this can hinder proper air circulation and prevent even cooking.
  7. Air fry the pork chops for 13 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit. A meat thermometer is the most reliable way to check for doneness.
  8. Once cooked through, remove the pork chops from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful bite.
