Ingredients
  

  • 1 Pkg Beef Hot Dogs
  • 1 Egg
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ¼ Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Cornmeal
  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 4 tsps Baking Powder
  • 1 ¼ Cup Milk
  • Canola Oil
  • Wood Skewers

Method
 

  1. Dry hotdogs with paper towels.
  2. Cut the pointed end off the skewers then insert them 2/3 the length of the hotdog.
  3. In a bowl whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  4. Now add the milk and egg.
  5. Transfer the batter to a mason jar or tall glass. Bring the oil to temperature.
  6. Dip the hotdogs 3 times into the batter to make sure it is well coated.
  7. Place battered hotdog in the oil and cook for 3 minutes or until it is golden brown.
