Ingredients
- 1 Pkg Beef Hot Dogs
- 1 Egg
- ½ tsp Salt
- ¼ Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Cornmeal
- 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
- 4 tsps Baking Powder
- 1 ¼ Cup Milk
- Canola Oil
- Wood Skewers
Method
- Dry hotdogs with paper towels.
- Cut the pointed end off the skewers then insert them 2/3 the length of the hotdog.
- In a bowl whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Now add the milk and egg.
- Transfer the batter to a mason jar or tall glass. Bring the oil to temperature.
- Dip the hotdogs 3 times into the batter to make sure it is well coated.
- Place battered hotdog in the oil and cook for 3 minutes or until it is golden brown.
