Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb penne pasta (uncooked)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 ½ tsps tsps salt, divided
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Method
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (190°C)..
- To a large pot add water and 1 tsp of salt then bring to a boil.
- Cook the penne pasta for 9 minutes then turn off the heat, drain the water and set it aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil.
- Add the ground beef and diced onion and cook until your ground beef begins to brown.
- Stir in the minced garlic and season with 1-1/2 of salt and the black pepper.
- Add the marinara sauce then season with the Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Stir well.
- Add the pasta and stir until your pasta is well coated.
- Spray a baking dish with baking oil then add the pasta mixture.
- Top with the shredded cheese then transfer to the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with extra dried parsley if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
