Ground Beef Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb penne pasta (uncooked)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 ½ tsps tsps salt, divided
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (190°C)..
  2. To a large pot add water and 1 tsp of salt then bring to a boil.
  3. Cook the penne pasta for 9 minutes then turn off the heat, drain the water and set it aside.
  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil.
  5. Add the ground beef and diced onion and cook until your ground beef begins to brown.
  6. Stir in the minced garlic and season with 1-1/2 of salt and the black pepper.
  7. Add the marinara sauce then season with the Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Stir well.
  8. Add the pasta and stir until your pasta is well coated.
  9. Spray a baking dish with baking oil then add the pasta mixture.
  10. Top with the shredded cheese then transfer to the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 10 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes.
  12. Garnish with extra dried parsley if desired.
  13. Serve warm and enjoy!
