Ingredients

  • 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 bottle your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp Paprika
  • 1 Tbsp Seasoned salt
  • 1 Tbsp Onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic powder

Method

  1. Begin by ensuring your chicken thighs are thoroughly cleaned and patted dry with a paper towel. Place them on a baking sheet.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, paprika, seasoned salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Sprinkle this seasoning mixture generously over both sides of the chicken thighs.
  3. Preheat your smoker or grill to 300°F (150°C).
  4. Place the seasoned chicken thighs directly on the grill grate, skin-side up. Close the lid and let them smoke for 45 minutes.
  5. After 45 minutes, if desired, brush the thighs with your favorite barbecue sauce. Close the lid again and continue to cook for an additional 15 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. Remove the chicken from the smoker and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a moist and tender bite.
