  • Milk: The milk is essential to making the custard. It provides serves as the liquid base to the creamy custard.
  • Eggs: The eggs job is to hold it all together. The custard that is. It serves as the binder to the rich and creamy custard and enhances the overall flavor of your French toast.
  • Sugar: The sugar serves to add a little sweetness to the toast and it caramelizing slightly while cooking for a delightful finish.
  • Vanilla Extract: The vanilla extract infuses the batter with a warm, and a little extra flavor.
  • Ground Cinnamon: A sprinkle of ground cinnamon brings a warm spice that perfectly complements the sweetness of the dish.
  • Salt: As in most dishes, the salt balances the flavors and enhances the overall taste of your French toast.

1. Preparing the French Toast Batter:

Ingredients

  • 4 slices Bread

  • 2 Tbsps Butter

  • ⅔ Cup Milk

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 tsp Sugar

  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

  • ½ tsp Cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Directions

  • In a small bowl add eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, nutmeg and cinnamon then whisk until well combined.
  • Using medium heat bring a frying pan to temperature then melt your butter.
  • Coat your bread with the mixture then place them in the pan and cook for 3 minutes on both sides.
