My recipe is made with simple ingredients you can find in your refrigerator and pantry. I used ground beef, all-purpose flour, onion mushroom, egg, bread crumbs, beef broth, French Onion Soup, Worcestershire Sauce, ground mustard, ketchup, garlic powder and black pepper.
Step 2: Preparing the Ground Beef for Salisbury Steak
Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, ground mustard and seasonings in a bowl. Mix until well combined.
Step 3: Forming the Salisbury Steak Patties
Next, form the mixture into patties then set it aside until later.
Step 4: Making the Gravy
In a separate bowl, combine onion soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and flour. Whisk until all of the flour has dissolved.
Step 5: Cook the Steaks
In a frying pan, cook the ground steaks for 5 minutes on each side then remove them from the pan
Step 6: Saute the Vegetables
Sauté the onions for 3 minutes. Add the mushrooms and sauté for an additional 3 minutes.
Step 7: Add the Gravy and Salisbury Steak
Pour in the gravy mixture and bring to a light simmer. Return the ground steaks to the pan. Reduce heat to medium low, cover and allow the steaks to cook for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes it is ready to serve.
