Ingredients
Key Ingredients & Why They Matter
- Chicken Wings: Juicy, flavorful, and the skin crisps up well in the oven — perfect for holding a thick, sticky glaze.
- Cornstarch: Helps dry the surface and promotes a crisp, lightly crunchy exterior (especially important for baked wings).
- Salt and Pepper: Seasons the wings all the way through and creates a savory base that keeps the sweet glaze from tasting flat.
- Onion Powder and Paprika: Add savory depth and a mild smoky color/flavor that seasons the wings even before the glaze goes on.
- Peach Preserves: The main flavor and sweetness of the glaze — it’s thick, fruity, and naturally sticky so it clings to the wings.
- Brown Sugar: Boosts “cobbler-like” caramel sweetness and helps the glaze become glossy and tacky.
- Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Ground Ginger: The signature “peach cobbler” spice blend — it’s warm, aromatic, and dessert-like without making the wings taste like candy.
- Apple Cider Vinegar: Balances the sweetness with acidity, brightens the peach flavor, and keeps the glaze from being heavy or overly sugary.
Recipe Variations
This recipe is easily customizable. With just a few tweaks you can make it your own.
- Spiciness: For more or less heat, adjust the amount of cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes.
- Oven method: If you don’t own an air fryer, bake your wings in the oven at 375°F for 45 minutes or until your chicken has an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Swap: If you don’t have wings try this recipe with chicken legs. Be mindful that cooking time will need to be adjusted.
- Swap: If you don’t have cornstarch, baking powder can be used (1–2 tsp for this amount of wings).

How to Make Air Fryer Peach Cobbler Wings
Before you start: Make sure your wings have been thoroughly washed and dried. This step is important to ensure the seasonings adhere to the wings.
Step 1:
Season the chicken wings with the salt, pepper, onion powder and paprika. Add the cornstarch then mix until each piece has been evenly coated.
Step 2:
Place the seasoned wings in the air fryer making sure not to over crowd your basket. Set the air fryer to 380 degrees and allow the wings to cook for 25 minutes or until they have reached your desired crispiness. Once done, place the wings in a large bowl and set them aside.
Step 3:
For the peach cobbler sauce, Place a small pot over medium-low heat then add all your remaining ingredients (peach preserves, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground ginger, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, apple sider vinegar and butter) then heat for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 4:
Once the peach cobbler sauce is ready, pour it over your wings and toss until each wing has been completely coated.
Step 5:
Allow your wings to rest for 5 minutes then they are ready to serve.
What to Serve With It
These wings will make a great game day appetizer or main dish! Serve them as they are or try these suggested pairings:
- Creamy Mac and Cheese
- Southern Style Greens
- Classic Potato Salad
- Fried cabbage
- Deviled Eggs
- Peach Cobbler (for dessert!)
Storage & Reheating
Storage:
- Cool wings fully, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- To store in the freezer, place the cooled wings in a freezer safe bag. They can be stored for up to 4 months but keep in mind the texture will be different.
Reheating (best texture):
- Oven: 375°F for 10–14 minutes on a rack until hot and slightly re-crisped.
- Air fryer: 360°F for 6–9 minutes, shaking once, until heated through.
- Microwave: Works, but wings will be less crispy; heat in short bursts to avoid drying out.
Tip: If the glaze looks dry after reheating, warm 1–2 teaspoons of preserves with a tiny pat of butter, then toss lightly.
