Thanksgiving is when we gather with family and friends to fellowship and enjoy great food. If you’re hosting Thanksgiving dinner, then planning the special day and the menu can leave you feeling a bit overwhelmed. If you’re anything like me, you want the day to be perfect so you spend a lot of time planning to make it so.
Well have no fear, I got you covered. In this blog post, I will share some of my favorite Thanksgiving recipes and give some tips on how to prepare for the special gathering.

A Classic Roasted Turkey is the main dish that is expected on millions of tables. It is very important that the turkey is a show stopper. It must look as good as it taste. Brining your turkey before roasting will help to keep it moist and flavorful. If you don’t want the traditional roasted turkey then a Smoked Turkey could be a great option.
Ham is another popular Thanksgiving main course. It’s easy to cook and can be served hot or cold. The best ham is honey glazed with pineapples.
Roasted Chicken and Fried Chicken are an optional main dish or can serve as an additional main dish when serving a large number of guest.
Thanksgiving Recipes –Side Dish
Mashed Potatoes are a classic Thanksgiving side dish. I love making garlic mashed potatoes to add a little twist on the traditional.
Dressing Cornbread to be exact is as important as the turkey. It’s savory, moist, and packed with flavor.
Green Bean & Potatoes is a flavorful hardy Thanksgiving side dish.
Cranberry Sauce is a tart and sweet side dish that pairs perfectly with turkey, gravy and dressing.
Candied Yams are a sweet treat before dessert. This side dish is the perfect complement to any Thanksgiving dinner plate.
Southern Fried Cabbage is a light side dish that goes well with just about everything.
Mac and Cheese is the ultimate side dish that’s everyone loves.
Roasted Brussel Sprouts is a healthy and delicious side dish.

Seven Up Pound Cake is the best pound cake by far. It is moist and pairs great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Peach Cobbler is such a great dessert. When paired with vanilla ice cream, it is the perfect end to a Thanksgiving feast.
Pecan Pie is a sweet and nutty dessert that’s perfect for Thanksgiving. It’s made with pecans, sugar, butter, eggs, and corn syrup.
Key Lime Pie is a tart and refreshing dessert that’s perfect for Thanksgiving.
Banana Pudding is such a rich dessert. The combinations of the slightly crunchy wafers and the creamy pudding makes it an unforgettable treat.
Red Velvet Cake is such an elegant dessert. It is the moist and the cream cheese icing is simply delicious.
